May 5th Planting Progress Report

In the 18 major corn growing states, 27 percent is now planted as of May 4th. Only one state, Colorado, is running ahead of the 5-year average pace with 38 percent planted compared to the average of 29 percent. Illnois planted 22 percent of their crop last week to reach 28 percent planted against a 76 percent average. Iowa is now 18 percent planted versus an average of 64 percent.
